MC就好像是ACC，而SC更像是PCC和MCC。MC更多关注于教练的专业技术，我们做到了什么，还在哪些方面需要提高，指导教练达到下一个成熟度。SC更关注整个人，你是谁，你要怎样教练，你的教练风格是什么，什么样的客户适合你。SC带领教练通过过往的经验，进行深度的反思，是一个共创的过程。这也应了薛老师经常说的一句话“教练状态就是生活状态。”SC的目标是带出教练作为一个人的更好状态。
督导教练像是和客户共同探索广大的人生宇宙，深入的探索可能性；而辅导教练则让客户了解目前的位置，与标准要求的差异，寻求更高的符合性。時而重合，但又有明显的不同。建立基础的能力框架和实务操作技巧，属于辅导教练的范畴，探索和寻求更多的可能，反思和突破己有的成果，就到了督导教练的期待和展现。既有简单共同的目标-更好的教练狀态和能力，又有在不同阶段和过程，需要整合和掌握的不同基础和心态。
正需要的角色区分。辅导教练是系统性指导教练核心标准，帮助人们发现教练能力，有哪些不错的表现，还有什么缺失的？在教练心态，行为，核心技能等方面观察，引导他们走向下一个成熟水平。督导教练是通过具体案例，给予更深度的反馈指导，看到教练的模式和心态，发现是什么阻碍了他们实践，通过不同视角来指导他们实践，引导他们发现，是什么定义了他们的风格，督导教练不是技术指导，是系统的更深层次的呈现。两者有重叠，也有区别。督导教练让我们看到自己是谁，就会如何做教练，探索在这个空间里，我们与客户发生了什么？作为实践者的反思。督导教练是一个大的融合点，教练所用的工具和方法技能帮助我们更有力的提问，但最好的工具是我们自己。
